BEHIND THE SCENES | THIS WAS MY SALES INTERNSHIP!

Always wanted to know what it’s like to do an internship at the coolest PR agency in the Netherlands? And do you like to make contacts in an environment that is constantly evolving? Then read on quickly and who knows, you will soon be in my place!

WHO AM I?

Let me first introduce myself: my name is Cynthia and I am a communication student. Like many, I had to do an internship for my studies. Looking for a marketing-oriented internship, my preference immediately went to House of Rebels. On the website I read the slogan “Imagine, be creative and stand out” and I was immediately sold. It was good to find a company that focuses on creativity and that brings the story of customers into the world in a, as newsworthy and striking way as possible.

HOUSE OF REBELS

House of Rebels is the full-service PR and marketing agency focused on lifestyle brands with a focus on women. Some examples of brands from their portfolio are The Body Shop, Pip Studio and Vitals. House of Rebels does not place customers in a standard ‘box’, but develops a suitable plan that is striking and fits within the slogan ‘Imagine, be creative and stand out’.

WHY AN INTERNSHIP AT HOUSE OR REBELS?

During my introductory meeting, I was already aware of the fact that House of Rebels was different from other companies. The conversation really revolved around my ideas and me. I have experienced this as very pleasant. As an intern at House of Rebels I really feel as an employee:  I have my own responsibilities. It is a close team, which makes it possible for me as an intern to learn different aspects of the communication profession.

THE JOB

I work in the sales department, where we focus on maintaining customer relationships and acquisition. I am continuously working on the development of the company and in this way I am experiencing the whole process from potential customer to customer. This is very nice and educational and also good for my network! In addition, I am the calling card of House of Rebels. The nice thing about my internship at House of Rebels is that besides sales I also get a lot of other facets of the company. For example, I take part in brainstorming sessions – together with the rest of the team – once a week in which we inform each other of the current tasks and plans and I can easily brainstorm with colleagues. I am really part of the team and I really like that.

Now that my internship period is almost over and looking back on the past time, I can say that it really has been an addition to my studies and personal development. I have learned a lot in the field of various aspects of communication and marketing, have been well supervised and were really REBEL. Really recommended as an internship!
